Mrs A's Opus Celebrating 70 Years Concert

The St. Paul University Manila College of Music and the Performing Arts (formerly, St. Paul College of Manila Conservatory of Music) turns 70 this year, 2010. Commemorating the Diamond Jubilee will be “Celebrating 70″ — concert series, which is a joint project of the B.M. Alumni of the Conservatory and the College of Music and the Performing Arts.

The first concert in the series is Mrs. A.’s Opus, which will be held on Aug. 1 at 5 pm in the Fleur-de-Lis Theater. It will feature renowned musicians who were students of the Greenhills Music Studio of Carmencita Guanzon-Arambulo.

Performing artists will be Rowena Arrieta, Louie Ocampo, Ryan Cayabyab, Oliver Salonga, Maritess Salientes, Ariel Arambulo, Rica Arambulo, Jonathan Arevalo Coo, Theres Gemora, Fr. Manoling Francisco, Hansel Ang, Katherine Fernandez, GMS-PSA String Orchestra, GMS Alumni Pop Ensemble, GMS Suzuki Music Kids and Mass Appeal Choir. Cayabyab will play a new composition during the concert.

R and R, which will be held on Aug. 4 features two world renowned pianists, Rowena Arrieta and Raul Sunico. The Duo Piano Concert, which is a comeback of their 90′s team-up will be held at 7:30 pm in the Fleur-de-Lis Theater.

Tickets at P500 and P300, with senior citizen discount, are available in St. Paul University Manila. Proceeds will be used for student scholarships.
