September 10 is a non-working holiday, Malacanang Palace declares. President Aquino has signed Proclamation 26, which declares September 10 as a non-working holiday in the Philippines. This is to give way to Ramadan festivities which is celebrated by the Muslim people after a month of fasting. The Ramadan began on August 11 this year and will end this coming September 10, 2010. Read more about Ramadan.
